Most students who excel academically hit a ceiling at some point. Their school moves too slowly, the material does not go deep enough, or there simply is not a program designed for someone at their level. Triangle Advancement Academy was built specifically for those students.

Many academic programs are built for students who are behind, but Triangle Advancement programs are built for students who are passionate about their educational advancement and want to go further than their classroom allows. We provide the tools to make this happen through small, intensive programs that give students the opportunity to explore subjects and develop their interests and passions. Our programs offer a maximum 8:1 Student to Educator ratio to ensure your child gets the most immersive and thorough experience in whatever program they choose to attend. We foster an environment that encourages deep learning and rich understanding of the subject material through a variety of independent study for the students on primary sources and through frequent assessments in order to build a long-term understanding. Courses are taught by top-level educators who compete and excel in their subject fields. Every course we offer is designed to go deeper than any classroom can.

Triangle Advancement Academy is based in Durham, NC, and it is built around the academic culture of the Research Triangle. The Research Triangle is one of the most educated regions in the country, with families who take learning seriously and students who are capable of far more than most programs ask of them. TAA exists because this community deserves programs that match its ambition.

Who are TAA programs designed for? 

TAA programs are built for motivated middle and high schoolers who are ready to go deeper than their regular classroom allows. Our students are not struggling academically. They are curious, passionate, and ready for something more challenging than what standard school offers.

How is this different from tutoring? 

Tutoring helps students catch up. TAA programs are built for students who are ready to get ahead. We are not filling gaps, we are building genuine expertise in a subject from the ground up.

What qualifies TAA instructors to teach? 

TAA instructors are high achieving students who compete and excel at the highest levels in their subject fields. Our current instructor is North Carolina's top ranked International History Bee competitor, currently competing internationally. We believe being close in age to our students is an advantage, not a limitation.

How many students are in each program? 

Every TAA program maintains a strict maximum of 8 students per cohort so every student participates and every question gets answered.

Where do classes meet and what do students need? 

All current programs run on Zoom. Students need a reliable internet connection, a camera, a microphone, and somewhere quiet to focus. All materials are shared through Google Classroom before each session.
